It's not too late to make sure that everyone is included in this year's Choose Respect Poster Contest. The deadline for receiving entries is Dec. 13. Attached is the 2014 Choose Respect student poster contest flier. Please extend the invitation to all your K-12 teachers and students. Last year, there was an unprecedented 174 entries from all over Alaska. This year's theme is: "Respect: Lead the Way." We encourage young Alaskans to create images around this theme, which may include youth helping others, being responsible community members, and choosing respect over violent or harmful behaviors. The winner will enjoy a classroom ice cream party sponsored by Tastee Freez of Anchorage. The winning poster will be reproduced and sent to over 150 communities across Alaska, used on Choose Respect materials, and posted on the Governor's web site.
