KETCHIKAN - It's 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, in Ketchikan and most people are at home, resting after a hard day's work. Not Terry Roberts, left, a career firefighter, who is training Jeff Jones, right, how to open and jack up a car in case of a real accident. The vacant parking lot of the downtown Ketchikan Fire Department offers the perfect opportunity for this type of activity, but they have to be particularly careful, as they are training on Jones's own car. Jones recently joined the department as a volunteer firefighter and said he enjoy the training opportunities that the Ketchikan Fire Department has to offer.
