Making Local Work: Admiralty Environmental

Whether it's a home well, or a developing mine, or a beach project, or a cruise ship, Admiralty Environmental is the leader in water sampling, laboratory analysis, and project management for both public and private clients. Admiralty Environmental helps clients meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations and manage their systems to operate in an environmentally sound manner.

Headquartered in Juneau, Alaska and locally owned, we have steadily expanded both our laboratory and consulting services over the past eight years to become the largest certified analytical laboratory in Southeast Alaska. Starting with cruise ship wastewater sampling in 2005, we have expanded our capabilities to local/municipal project sampling and management, as well as adding state-certified drinking water analysis in 2008. Last year, Admiralty Environmental moved into a larger facility which provides greater accessibility to our clients. This larger laboratory space, situated in downtown Juneau, also enabled us to increase the testing capabilities to include a full spectrum of certified drinking water and wastewater analyses.

Our employees help Admiralty Environmental deliver technically sound results and solutions. All of our technicians hold degrees and/or also have extended experience in their fields of study. We are happy to announce that this year, all of our experienced staff is former students of University of Alaska Southeast, right here in Juneau! We believe in the importance of providing jobs in which college students and graduates can apply their recently-gained knowledge directly in their field of interest. We also hire locally whenever possible. Besides generally reducing local unemployment and creating career paths for college graduates, one of the benefits we see is that it also fosters opportunities for community involvement.

In addition to testing in Alaska, Admiralty Environmental has developed a mobile laboratory to perform onsite testing for projects in hard-to-reach places. Clients who have used this service in the past include various cruise lines and federal Department of Defense agencies. Using the laboratory in settings where "regular" laboratory services are not available has enabled our clients to meet their individual regulatory requirements for their operating systems with the same certification level in remote areas as in our headquarters location in Juneau.

Our relationships with clients are built upon quality, dependable results, and excellent customer service. Admiralty Environmental promotes partnerships with our clients to help them interpret and meet the terms of their environmental testing requirements.
