Thank you for the good job you do each spring in promoting the Alaska Folk Festival (AFF). My annual AFF membership is, hands down, the best 50 bucks I spend each year (since 1989). But my guess is that less than one of twenty Juneau CCW readers are AFF members. Many enjoy, few pay!
Your pitch for "a few more bucks" from current AFF members misses the point and the solvency of the non-profit does not merit your gloomy headline. What "trouble?" AFF is fiscally sound and well managed by an all-volunteer board.
Might the CCW do an off-season feature on the festival with a focus on the amazing value and that many benefits of AFF membership, so that new members might be attracted? How many Juneau attendees are actually members? Few. Which doesn't trouble the AFF, but it is a story.
