Sitka to host International Grind celebration

The Sitka Monthly Grind has announced the International Grind, an event organized to celebrate Sitka’s many cultures, which will kick off at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Sheet Ka Kwann Naa Kahidi Community House.

According to a release from the organization, the philosophy of the Monthly Grind is to offer affordable, nonpolitical and family-oriented entertainment.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at Old Harbor Books; events are often sold out so advanced purchase is recommended. Cost is $5 for adults, and $1 for children or free with a plate of homemade desserts. For those bringing a dessert, a ticket must be purchased in advance and will be reimbursed at the door. Organizers also encourage participants to bring a cup to help reduce trash.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. For more info call Jeff at 907-747-4821.
