OUTDOORS Capital City Weekly Southeast Alaska hosts an array of accessible and edible flora and fauna species. Sitka black-tailed deer are a commonly harvested animal in the region, upon which many residents rely as a primary food source. This is the first of a four part series focusing on the process of safely, ethically and efficiently harvesting the animals for food.
