OUTDOORS Capital City Weekly Flowing through the Alaska Coastal Range near Petersburg, LeConte Glacier has slowly edged its way to salt water for thousands of years. Geologists have determined there was an advance that lasted from 1300 AD to about 200 years ago during the Little Ice Age.
